The Research Council's 2020-24 strategy categorically states that it is crucial to expedite transition to the zero-emission society and good adaptation to climate change via increased international research and innovation collaboration on global societal challenges. In accordance with the strategy, the seminar aims to summon relevant stakeholders (businesses, academicians, and the public sector) to discuss, co-create solutions and combat the growing climate crisis. The seminar act as a platform to disseminate applied research within the business sector, discuss ways to implement it and measure/report progress. Speakers from municipalities and government entities will shed light on climate adaptation policies and its implementation. As a convener of sustainability, UNGC envision this seminar a stepping-stone for participants to challenge conventional wisdom and re-engineer processes to strive for circularity and net-zero emission by 2050.
The session will last for two hours, where four speakers, representing all stakeholders, will conduct lectures between 10-15 minutes. The latter half of the session is reserved for discussions and critical evaluation.
